Gyrotonic

The Gyrotonic Expansion System Method was created in the 1970s by Julio Horvath, a hungarian born in Romania. It is a unique exercise system that has a holistic and mindful approach to the body. It has movement sequences that are composed by spiriling, circular and three-dimensional movements. Each movement flows into the next with rhythm and corresponding breathing. This way the joints move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. It stretches and strengthens at the same time, creating a balanced body. 

 

It constitutes two exercises methods that are complementary, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis. The Gyrotonic Method utilises specialised and custom-design equipments that guide, assist and challenge the exerciser. Whereas the Gyrokinesis exercises are performed on a mat and a chair, without equipment. Either method will make you move in a very natural way giving you pleasure and well-being.

 

You can not truly explain gyrotonic, you have to feel it in your own body to understand how beneficial and pleasant it is.
